Phebe Larue who married Thomas Neill on August 20, 1795 was the daughter of Samuel Larue and Jane Helm. Samuel Larue was the born about 1750, son of Isaac Larue & Phebe Carman. Jane Helm was born January 2, 1759, daughter of Thomas Helm & Margaret Neill. There was a Superior Court of Chancery lawsuit filed in Frederick Co. VA by Thomas Neill & wife Phebe vs. James & Jabez Larue in 1798, settling in favor of Plaintiffs in 1804. (Library of Virginia, Richmond, VA - LVA microfilm reel # 181, Index # 1804-032). After the death of Samuel Larue abt 1781, Jane Helm Larue married George Beeler about 1783 in Berkeley Co., VA.

Both Jane Helm Larue Beeler and her second husband George Beeler gave depositions in 1798 in Ohio Co., VA. The deposition of Jane Helm Larue Beeler states in part:... "some time in the year 1784 when this deponent with her husband George Beeler was about to move their family from Berkley County over the Alegeney (sic) mountains to the western country they called at the house of Isaac Larew father of her first husband Samuel Larue by whom she had one daughter Phebe who was then at the said Isaac Larues her grandfathers. This deponent & her husband George Beeler then asked the said Isaac Larue & Phebe his wife if they would let them take away her daughter Phebe with them to the western country the old lady answered if they took her away it would break her heart".

The information that Samuel Larue married Sarah Stump and had a daughter Phebe Larue who married Thomas Neill is incorrect.
