Father and siblings of " Ezekial " Neil who m. Margaret Evans

I STRONGLY believe, but have not 100% proven.. yet, that Patrick Jr. (Son of Patrick Neil that died in 1802 in Rockbridge VA) and the "Ezekiel" Neil mentioned in these post are one in the same. Notice that Patrick's wife in the Lee County Deed below was named Margaret. She would have been his second wife as Patrick first married Elizabeth Hood in 1796 Greene Co. TN . Patrick had a nephew through his brother Calvin/Colvin Neil named Hezekiah Patrick Neil in Scott County. I have seen on records where his name also got written as " Hezekiel" P. Neil/Neal another thing very convincing about this is that " Ezekial" named a son John McKin AKA CALVIN and besides the Calvin that was Patrick Jr's brother, he also had a brother named Mckinia, Grimes, Hamilton,& Daniel, all named in his fathers will in Rockbridge Co. VA , And all names that " Ezekial" used for names of his son's.
If someone has anything to prove this theory wrong PLEASE let me know.
(Sheila Allen-Winterberg)

Hi Beverly - I have often suspected that your Hamilton Neil belongs in our NEAL/NEILfamily. I do not have the parents, but the siblings, which include Hamilton NEIL. They were in Lee Co, VA before moving to East TN, possibly Jefferson Co,TN after the birth of youngest child, Salina, who was born 1828 in VA. Greene Co is adjacent to Jefferson Co. Their brother, David NEIL,single, died 12 Jun 1854 in Giles Co, TN. He named all his siblings in his will and they were his heirs. The loose records state where each sibling was living in 1856. It stated Hamilton NEIL was living in Panola Co, MS, but wondered if it was supposed to be Panola Co, TX, where several of his siblings were living before 1850. One sister, Margaret NEIL, m to Henderson DURNILL, died in Rockport, Boone Co, MO, 7 Jul 1850. David's siblings were:
Grimes, Elizabeth m Alex FULLINGTON,
Margaret m Henderson DURNILL, Patrick m Eliz C WEST,
Lavinia m David FULLINGTON, Daniel m Lucinda FLATFORD, John m Mary J,
Mary Ann m Wm Newton WILLIAMS, and Salina m Isaac PIKE.
Salina, Patrick,Mary Ann & Daniel were all in 1850 Panola Co, TX Census. Daniel returned to TN. Would be interested in what you may have on your Hamilton Neil and am happy to share my info. Peg

Looking for information on Ezekial NEIL who married Margaret EVANS in early 1800's They moved to TN from Lee Co, VA. ( Actually they moved from Sullivan Co. TN to Lee Co VA, then the children moved back to TN. SAW)
Their children were born in VA according to Census Records. David Neil's probate records have a deposition from a George WILLIAMSON, who stated that the Neil's & his family moved to TN from Lee Co, VA.
CHILDREN:
Neil, Grimes m 2nd?-Johnson, Louisa A - 1856 in Knox Co, TN
Neil, Elizabeth m Fullington, Alexander
Neil, Hamilton m Forrest, Sarah
Neil, Margaret m Durnell, Henderson
* Neil, Patrick m West, Elizabeth Caroline
Neil, Lavinia m Fullington, David
Neil, David died single
**Neil, Daniel m Flatford, Lucinda
Neil, John m Johnson, Mary
*Neil, Mary Ann m Williams, William Newton
*Neil, Salina A. m Pike, Isaac
* These moved to Panola Co, TX by 1850
** Daniel Neil was in Panola Co, TX in 1850 census, but returned to TN to live

In a Claiborne Co, TN story on the Fullington's it is said that Lavinia & Elizabeth were of a good family and of New Market. That is in Jefferson Co, TN
Does anyone have info on the parents in New Market?
Patty Freytag Harmon

( My note There was an area in Greene Co. TN also known as " New Market " as well a in VA. The Patrick Jr. that I think is also this " Ezekial" had a brother named Grimes that moved to Lee Co. VA from Claiborne Co. TN abt the same time that Patrick Jr. moved there Sullivan Co. TN and they had a brother Hamilton Neil that was a merchant in Green Co. TN SAW)

Indenture 27th Oct 1817, between Joseph Rogers of Lee Co. VA and Patrick Neill of the same county for sum of $600 ( should this read $60 as he sells it in 1820 for $220?? ) Lott No 3 in Town of Jonesville, containing 1/2 acres with appertenances and same lot Robert Craig conveyed to Daniel Dickinson and he conveyed to MacFarlane who conveyed to Irby (?Kirby) who conveyed to Rogers. 1820 Lee Co. VA census
Patrick Neill btw 26-45 (1775-1794) 2 males to 10 yrs, 2 males 10 to 16, 1 male 16-18, 1 male 18-26, 4 females to 10 yrs old, 1 10-16 and 1 female 26-45

That would be 6 son's and 5 daughters, the exact amount of children listed for
" Ezekial" and Margaret Evans.

Notice in the post from Peg regarding the children of " Ezekial " Neil who was the father the David that died and named his siblings and who they were married to and where they lived at the time of the court case. One of the children of " Ezekial" was a Margaret who married HENDERSON DURNELL... Well in 1840 Patrick Neil b. btw 1770-1780 is living in Lee Co. VA the person listed after him is HENDERSON DURNELL b. 1820-1830.
The Henderson Durnell that married Margaret Neil is listed on the 1850 Boone Co. MO census as b. abt 1814 in Virginia. He has a son William P. Neil age 13 born in Virgina as well as a Jerome H. age 9 b. Virginia, then 7 yr old Eli N. b. in Ky then a James age 5 and Benjamin age 4 born in MO. So Henderson Durnell was indeed in Virginia in 1840. Then aparently live a short time in KY before coming to MO btw 1843-1845
The fact he had a child born in KY leads me to wonder if the Patrick Neil listed on the 1830 Harlan Co. KY census btw 50-60 is also our " Ezekial-Patrick" Neil and he went there for a time then back to VA as he does not show up in Lee Co. VA in 1830. Harlan Ky is just through the gap from Lee Co. VA.

Also of note, in 1850 in Lee Co. VA there is a Fredrick Neal age 60 b. VA Mulatto.
Could this be the 23 yr old " Flan" that Patrick brought with him from Sullivan Co. that he may have emancipated when he died?
