I am a descendant of the Neider family that came from Switzerland in abt 1855 to the United States. It is my understanding that the name was spelled Neiderer and on arrival in this country the er was dropped. I'm not sure of the reason.
My ancestors settled in Syracuse but it said that one brother went to Pennsylvania, I have not yet been able to make that connection.
