Pat and Jean,
I have been researching Neider for about 4 years. Just started to get somewhere lately with the help of Ancestry.com. First of all, I'll say I'm researching Francis Neider, his father Henry, and Henry's father Henry. I checked the 1790 census when Ancestry put it on the site. I found Henry Neider when he must have just married because there are no children.
In my search I copied census pages when I was going to a library in case I could use it. Well in looking through papers I recieved from the Berks Hist. Soc. I found Henry and Mary baptising their last child.
Looking through the baptism of other children I found other names I recognized from the Civil war pension records.
I also in a round about way through a library in Ohio, I found the pension record for the first Henry of 1790. He has 2 sons but doesn't say names, they are bonded out and he can't work and his wife is 59 but no name.
I have the pension papers of Henry and Mary from Lafayette who died a prisioner at Andersonville, Ga during the Civil war.
Also trying to get Civil War penson paper for Harrison Neider but had to send to three diferent places and haven't recieved anything yet. I am trying to find things about the sons of all the men, not just my line. I'm stuck trying to find the son between Henry Neider married to Mary and the Henry Neider of 1790. I haven't found anything earlier than that. I'm in Florida and that makes a big difference .
I have some pages from the city directory with addresses.
Michael Neider of Henry and Mary was a twin to Lafayette. I have the census page of 1850.
Contact me and we can trade information.
