Sue, Interesting. Can you tell me some more about the DNA testing. Was it with FamilyTree DNA? Also was William Laslie killed in the Civil War? Never could find him in the 1870 US Census. 1870 US Census, Lee Co., VA, Jonesville Twp. Still listed as Matilda Neff, no additional children after 1860, no husband listed.
William above is age 11 and a son of the Widow Matilda Neff, age 49 born in Wythe Co., VA. Looks live the family moved to Lee Co., VA between 1855 and 1858.
