Dear Bill, Thanks so much for your response. I was unaware of a Neff Society. My information is primarily from Dorothy Neff Curry's book: The Descendants of William Neff Who Married Mary Corliss, January 23, 1665, Haverhill, Massachusetts. She was certain our branch was English. She mentions that the word "nef", means "ship" which is remarkable if the early Neffs (Nesse's) were ship captains!
I'm sure you've seen a copy. My late mother, Helen E. Neff Seeks was from Mt. Vernon, IA. Marcie Neff Fisher who is mentioned in the forward lived in Iowa City, hence our family's ability to receive several copies (mine is #132).
