Bob - try the spelling of "Neely" a variety of ways in your look up.My family were supposed to be "Scotch Presbyterian" - they lived in County Antrim.from Irish paperwork that I have that goes back to the late 1700's as well as the Irish census, the spelling of Neely for them was "Neiley".This is verified by the Irish census as well as the documents and citizenshiup papers for my g-g-grandfather, James Neely (Neiley). The name was "Americanized" when they came here.It has been spelled in the U.S. in a number of ways, Neely, Neeley, etc.I'm no expert but it may be that the spelling was much different in Scotland?Best of luck!Sincerely, Jim Neely
