RE: Clement Neeley and Susannah Harrington, Clay County, Missouris
Are there any family records or or recollections of this specific Neeley household ever taking up the care of Lycurgus Vineyard, who would have been their grand-nephew (through Susannah Harrington)?
Lycurgus was left with an "uncle" in Missouri when his widower father Elisha Vineyard migrated to Oregon in 1852.
A contributor gave the date of death of Clement Neeley at the LDS familysearch.org site as being 8 December 1865.But this date is wholly suspect.
The 1860 census (Fishing River Township, Clay County, MO) has Richard Nealy living adjacent to his mother, Susan Nealy (who was then 72). His father, Clement Nealy wa not enumerated in 1860, suggesting that he very likely had died prior to the 1860 census.Perhaps the LDS contributor meant 1855?
Regardless, the only Clement enumerated there was the 5 year old son of Richard (aged 45) and Mary A. Nealy (aged 37), plus their daughter Margaret (aged 3), and "Licurgus" Vineyard (aged 14).
Anyone in the Neeley clan have help on this?
