I have recently begun research into my family history.I don't have anything on "Kitty", but my family is from the Clifden area, so I thought I'd share some of the basics to see if it helps.
My paternal grandmother was Ann Nee, born September 18, 1905 in Dumbarton, Scotland. Her parents were Michael Nee, born abt 1870 Aran Islands (maybe Ohmey Island) and Catherine Nee born abt 1871 Cloon Clagen Co.Michael's parents were Michael Nee and Bridget Mullin and Catherine Nee's parents were John Nee and Sarah King.I haven't determined DOB's for the last two couples.
I have a marriage place and date for Michael Nee and Catherine Nee of March 12, 1891 in Dumbarton, Scotland.
My grandmother Ann had a host of siblings: Mary Nee, Thomas Nee, Bridget Nee, John Nee, sarah Nee, Michael Nee, catherine Nee, and Patrick Nee.Patrick was the youngest.Michael was the second youngest. He served in the Scottish Rifles 1st in India 1932-39, then in France where he was injured and a German POW, released in November 1944.
I believe Ann's oldest brother was Thomas who was killed in 1918 serving with the Royal Irish Regiment, and is buried at the Vis-En-Artois Memorial, Pas de Calais, France.
Perhaps some of this history will match up with yours, and will be helpful to both of us.
