I am very interested in Nees in the Boston area. My gr grandfather is the ony one in his large family that did not leave Maine to go to Boston and live. Photos of relatives show that they spent time with other families on holidays such as Christmas, so I believe these folks were related. Of the group that moved away their mother was Mary Ney [Nee...it was corrupted over time but they always knew the correct spelling.]
Nees were from Ballyconneely in Western Connamara, County Galway.
