Folks, this is my neverending quest to find other Nee/Ney folks from Ballyconneely. Ellen Nee's father-in-law is John. She's a pretty busy lady with several children so you may not hear from her.
My family originated in Ballyconneely in far western Connamara just beyond Roundstone. It is a gathering of several villages: Errislannin, Dullola, Bunowen, Foreglass, Derrygimla, and others. Maichale Nee and Maire McHugh married about 1830 and had John, Patrick, and Bridget. There may have been a James, Michael, adn Mary. Connected family names in Ireland were Uniacke, O'Malley/Malia, Walsh [a cousin,] and Kelly. Believed to all be from Ballyconneely area in time span 1830-1880+ I have my fingers crossed david.soule@maine.edu
