Jacob NEDROW born October 23, 1843 enrolled February 25, 1864 as a Private Company D Regiment 22 Pennsylvania at Harrisburg. He was a volunteer to serve for three years. He died October 7, 1864 of Typhoid fever in Cumberland, Maryland. Catherine Nedrow was the first claimant to the pension. Catherine died July 26, 1883. Daniel Nedrow, father of Jacob, was the second claimant after his wife died. Daniel claims that he married Catherine MILLER at Salt Lick Township, Fayette County, Pennsylvania May 18, 1840. The marriage was performed by Peter Diembauld Esq. Donegal. At the time of Jacob's death, the following children were under 16: Susannah born: June 10, 1849, Issac born March 8, 1851, Eve born: July 23, 1853, Daniel born: July 5, 1859, Ellen born: July 1, 1861, and Samuel born: Mary 30, 1863. Phillip NEDROW and Lydia FOUST appeared before the Justice of the Peace in 1884 and claim that they were acquainted with Daniel and Catherine and family and that Jacob is the son of Daniel and Catherine NEDROW. Robert FERGUSON claims that he was a near neighbor to Daniel NEDROW and family. Thomas NEDROW and Susannah SINGO also claimed that Daniel and Catherine NEDROW were the parents of Jacob. Robert FERGUSON claims that Jacob contributed to the income of Daniel and Catherine and family. At the time Daniel made claim to the pension of his son Jacob, Daniel made a living from being a laborer and tilling of a mountain farm in Donegal, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.
