Lucy Jane Wood Necessary, daughter of Peter and Lucretia Necessary Wood came to Texas about 1896 to be near/with her Wood family in Texas.
Her husband, Hamilton Necessary went back to Southwest Virginia, previous home of the Wood family and married Martha Webb. Children of Lucy and Ham stayed in Texas. They were Martha Lucinda, John Henry, Floyd Benjamin and Conley Lafayette. Floyd Benjamin was 13 when they came, married Willie Kitchens and lived most of his life at Whitney. Martha Lucinda married James Williams in Wise County, lived in Milam County before moving to Midland. John Henry married about 5 times but was living in Bastrop County in 1900 married to Ida ?. One of his daughters, Leona, lives in Granbury. Conley married Lucy Bell Sanders and died in Parker County. Some of his grandchildren live in the Granbury area.
Lucy's siblings were Elizabeth (Weatherly) who stayed in VA; James P; William E who died as a child; Sara T; Martha D who married Samuel F. Voigt; Lafayette Barker who married Lydia Elizabeth Byrd & lived in Bastrop County in 1900; Henry M; Stephen who married Lucy Bowman and lived in Caldwell County in 1900 and John O.
It appears that Lafayette's family might have moved to Port Lavaca since some of his children married there.
Does anyone know who Lucy married or lived with? We cannot find her in the census or living with any of the Wood family or her children. We understand she lived in the Dallas area before her death.
