Jim Near was probably my great uncle, brother to my grandfather, Samuel Wesley Near. Samuel lived in Adrian around that time and 1910 would put Jim at the age of 44 which makes sense that a daughter would be in college. Their father was William Neher, and he became an american citizen in the 1870's. I have the paperwork for his citizenship from Saganing, MI. I also can trace back 5 generations if you would like that information. I still live in Adrian, MI.
