Hi!
I am trying to track down information on the following NEAR family:
DELL and JIM NEAR
Children:
Myrtle
Viola
Hazen (spelling?)
Faye (spelling?)
Louis
Maudie
These names were gleaned from the copy of an old photograph and some old letters that just got forwarded to me. Myrtle attended Brown's Business University in Adrian in 1910, was in Pinconning in 1912, Bay City in 1915, and Flint in 1918. A letter from Viola dated June 29, 1914 places her in Pinconning, Michigan.
It is my belief that Dell is the daughter of Hannah (Broughton)(not sure of her married name, though Allen is written in one family record). One of Hannah's sisters was Phebe D. Lewis (nee Broughton; my great-great-grandmother) to whom most of the letters were written. Phebe lived in Wellington, Ohio at the time the letters were written. The letters from Myrtle and Viola addressed to Phebe began with "Dear Aunt".
I would greatly appreciate any information that would help fill in this gap in our family tree. Thanks!
