WHO ARE JOHN NEAL and WILLIAM NEAL of the 1810 Montgomery Co. NC Census and is this the same JOHN NEAL who sold his Montgomery Co. NC land in 1801 to WILLIAM ROGERS, my GGG Grandfather ?
Our WILLIAM ROGERS line is DNA tested and matches those of Surry Co. VA are these NEAL's also of Colonial VA ? - Tina
1801 Montgomery Co. NC Land Deed Entries shows :
"4804 ( 0490 ). WILLIAM ROGERS 100 ac.; warrant 5619 issued July 7, 1801 by JOHN NEAL to WILLIAM ROGERS for 100 ac. joins JAMES ROGERS, GEORGE FISHER, HARRIS, ROBERT WICKS, & his own line on waters of Long Cr. ; 100 ac. surveyed Aug. 20, 1819 by JAS. CHAPPELL; on SW side of Yadkin R. & on waters of Long Cr. ; border; begins at Fisher's corner pine, joins JAS. ROGERS, & MILLER; JAS ROGERS Sr. & WILLIAM WALKER, chain carriers; ( 2 copies of survey in shuck )."
( Mecklenburg Co. NC Marriages included a JOHN NEEL who md. SARAH TODD on May 16, 1803 )
