Mary Naphew, b. 1748 NJ; possibly Neafie?

We're trying to find Mary Naphew, b. 1748 probably in NJ where she probably married Garret Van Pelt before 1768 because their children were born in NJ, although they all moved to NY c.1800 and Garret and Mary died in Rensselaer County, NY.

Something seems to have been "Americanized" to Naphew (at least once) as that name shows up nowhere. Does anyone think Neafie is a possibility?

Thanks much,

Jo Ann Kaufman
