James M. Wollam - Deer Creek 1910 - Carroll 1918

I have been researching a family who were brief residents of Wayne County from at least 1910 to 1918. In 1910 James M. Wollam and his family lived in Deer Creek Township, next to his brother-in-law, Ross C. Peterson. James was married to Florence Peterson about 1898 in Teller County, Colorado where he worked as a miner for his brother-in-law, William H. Shell at the Pinto Mine.

Sometime between August 1903 and 1909 they re-located to Nebraska. I have had trouble following their moves but what apparently led them to Nebraska was that some of the Petersons lived there. Ross Peterson lived in Burt County, Nebraska in 1900 but was in Deer Creek in 1910 and then in Chapin in 1920. I have not been able to find James M. Wollam in 1920 but I did find a WWI Draft Registration for his eldest son, William Raymond Wollam online at William worked for his father, James M. Wollam as a farmer dated 12 April or Sept. 1918, residence given as 2 Carroll, Wayne County, NEB.

William was born in Colorado on 27 Aug 1900. His younger brother Leo A. Wollam was born there on 29 Aug 1903. So the family left Colorado sometime after that. A daughter, Brendel ??? (spelling) was born in Nebraska about 1909.

I don't know their whereabouts after the 1918 draft registration date, until Florence and son William are found in Pondera County, Montana in 1930 and son Leo is found in nearby Cascade County, Montana. All 3 died in Montana in 1945, 1968 & 1969.

I am curious to know whether there might be some records on file in Wayne County to help me determine approximately when they left Wayne County. I am also curious to know whether James M. Wollam or his daughter may have died and been buried there in Wayne County. I know that there was a major flu epidemic in 1918, maybe it's known whether it reached Wayne County? I would like to know whether the family left Wayne County with or without James Wollam and pin point when if possible.

Any information would be gratefully appreciated.

Thank you for your time and co-operation.
