I'm looking for information on Henry C. Wycoff. Last name is spelled many different ways such as Wicoff, Wickhoff, or Wyckoff. According to an 1891 land purchace in Illinois, Henry C. Wycoff, then single was "late of the state of Nebraska". When he married in 1892 he reported an earlier marriage. On his 1909 obituary, it is reported that he was survived by an child of this marriage.
Henry was born about 1845 in Germany, and according to the 1900 census, came to the US in 1866. From his 1892 marriage record, his father's name was George, and his mother's maiden name was Weiskenkaup.
We have found no records of Henry's life prior to the 1891 land purchase and 1892 marriage record.
I have posted this message in the Nebraska counties where a Wycoff was found in the 1890 farmer directory.
