Dear Seward County Cousins,

It is with great joy that I invite you to explore our Seward County family website and to look for your family members on our pages. In the last three months we have constructed over 200 pages of specific and interconnecting information on many early Seward families, their descendants, and their ancestors.

Some of the Seward surnames included in our website are:

BAYLOR, BROKAW, CRAWFORD, FAUST, FOSLER, GARBER, GARNER, GOEHRING, GOOD, GOOD, HACKWORTH, HAGEMAN, HENKLE, HOY, IMIG, JONES, KENNEDY, KOENIG, KUHN, MANTHEY, McBEE, McCLUNG, MEYER MILLER, OST, PETERSON, RENZELMAN, ROBBINS, RYAN, SANDERS, SANTINI, SHERRILL, SKILLMAN, SMITH, STEFFEN, TALKINGTON, THALKEN, VALENTINE, VOGT, VOLLMER, WALLICK, WATKINS, WHITE, WISE, and YOUNG.

For a complete list of the people on our website whom we have identified so far to have either lived in Seward County or to be among their descendants please check our index page at:
http://www.stipak.com/hageman/williambrown/RR_IDX/IDX001.HTM

We are adding to the information on a weekly basis, in the hopes that when many of you visit us you might see your own people, be enriched by the experience, and share with us your piece of the family puzzle. Happily, four members of distant branches of these Seward families have recently contacted me and have contributed greatly to the information presented.

The main homepage for our Seward family is called “Descendants of William Brown Hageman and his wives, sisters Althea Quick Stryker and Magdalena Voorhees Stryker” and is at:
http://www.stipak.com/hageman/williambrown/RR_TOC.HTM

This website is a compilation of the research, record-keeping, and personal memories of numerous family members and others. We eagerly look forward to reuniting with all of our long-lost Seward County, Imig, and Hageman cousins. We hope to progressively enrich this family website with contributions of facts, photographs, and recollections from all of you.

Early Seward Co. Settler Background:
William Brown HAGEMAN and his two wives, sisters Aletta "Althea" Quick STRYKER and Magdalena Voorhees STRYKER. were born and raised in Somerset County, New Jersey in the early 1800's. They ventured west with the Dutch-American migrations, first in 1839 to Fulton County, Illinois where Althea died in 1850, and then in 1866 in a covered wagon to Seward County, Nebraska, where they finally settled for good on rich farmland near the Blue River. Many of their descendants reside in Nebraska to this day, while hundreds of others have followed their inherited pioneer spirit to the far corners of the U.S. and the world.

I am also working on a coming related website concerning the IMIG family of Seward County. They are a branch of the large Illinois IMIG family who immigrated in the mid-1800’s from Germany. Please contact me if you have any IMIG or HAGEMAN roots.

Best Wishes,
--Alice
