There were two John D. Griffiths in Dodgeville that were cousins with one serving in the Civil War. A family history had one, but all the indictors pointed to the other.
1) The other would have been 12 yrs old in 1862.

The obituary including that this John was involved in Sherman's march to the sea confirms all the indictors. Again, thank you very much.
The John D. Griffiths that settled in Richardson was the son of David D. Griffiths and (Nancy) Ann Evans.
John D and his cousin William served in the Wis 31st Inf Company C (known as the Dodgeville Rangers).
Along with John D. Griffiths, his cousins Henry H. (Wis 49th company E) and David Daniel (WI 17th Inf Company B) settled in Richardson.
