I have had really miserable luck finding information about the Jones in the Polk County book, which really surprises me because I know there are many Jones living in Polk County today. This book is organized as a county history, rather than a history of individuals, so the surnames are scattered about and in no particular order (there is no index, either).

I did find a listing for the Osceola Cemetery, in which are listed the Civil War veterans buried there. Included in this list are Jacob Jones and J.H. Jones (no dates).

I will offer some other info. I moved to Osceola when I was in 4th grade, and graduated High School from there. One of my classmates is a Jones, and he may have some family histories (I know his family has been in the area a long time). If you email me, I can give you his email address.
