Omaha World Herald 8 May 1903 Stephen CORBETT is Jailed
Osceola, Neb., May 7-Sheriff HARTMAN, after being gone on the chase for Stephen CORBETT, who shot Mrs. Fred JONES, after a chase of twenty-four hours came back with his man. After CORBETT shot at the woman twice he hitched up his team and started to get away. The sheriff got track of him and went to Columbus, travelling all night. After the fellow had talked with some friends at Columbus, they advised him to return home, which he did, taking a different road. The sheriff found him at his home a few miles from Osceola.
