On behalf of the Lied Pierce (Nebraska) Public Library Genealogy Help Group we are happy to offer the following obituary. It appears that his last address was Stanton, Nebraska, not Pierce.

Norfolk Daily News; Norfolk, Nebraska; Monday, November 3, 1980

Richard Lockwood

Services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Johnson-Stonacek Funeral Chapel, Norfolk, for Richard Lockwood, 68, Stanton. He was dead on arrival Sunday at a Norfolk hospital after becoming ill while hunting pheasants with a friend from Arizona in the Stanton area.

The Rev. Richard Burgess will officiate. The boy will be cremated. The body will lie in state Monday from 3 to 9 p.m. at Johnson-Stonacek Funeral Chapel.

Memorial funds are being established for the Stanton and Randolph United Methodist Churches.

Mr. Lockwood was born July 10, 1912, at Fairplay, Mo., and was a retired engineer in the aircraft industry. He and his wife, Elsie, were married Dec. 3, 1974, at Yuma, Ariz., and moved to Stanton in September 1979 from Kingman, Ariz.

Mr. Lockwood is survived by his wife, Elsie; one, William of Bakersfield, Calif., and two daughters; three step-sons, Ron Hilkemann of Lexington, the Rev. Larry Hilkemann of Arlington Heights, Ill., and Dr. Robert Hilkemann of Omaha; and six step-grandchildren.
