My maiden name is Brandon and I am interested in the origins of the names of the towns mentioned above. My ancestors, John William Brandon and family of 16 moved from Venango County, PA to Phillips County, KS in 1879. This family had 6 sons but I doubt any were in Perkins County in 1885 - but not certain. There were lots of Brandons in Venango County, PA from about 1800 and stemmed from 4 brothers. I'd be interested in learning if any of them were responsible for the town of Brandon being named after him. Thanks for any information you might have.
