OBSERVE 50TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY
(Pawnee City, Pawnee Co Nebraska)
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Day observed their 50th wedding anniversary with an "Open House" at their farm home northeast of Humboldt, Sunday, August 30, 1959
Cake and punch were served to 100 relatives and friends. The three tier anniversary cake was made and very beautifully decorated by Mrs. Wilbur Bourne.
Mr. and Mrs. Day were married September 1, 1909 at Pawnee City. They began their married life working on a farm northeast of Humboldt for the late Frank Fergus. On the first of March the following year they started farming for themselves northeast of Table Rock.
Three children were born to this union - a daughter, Mildred was killed by lightning at the age of nine, a son, Forrest lives in Humboldt, and a son, Lawrence lives in Conway Springs, Kansas.
Both Mr. and Mrs. Day are enjoying good health and are still farming.
There were four generations present for the occasion. They were Charles Day, Lawrence Day, Larry Day and his small son, Stevie.
Out of town guests were Jim Vanausdoll and Mr. and Mrs. Evert Vanausdoll and sons of Dow, Illinois. Mrs. John Day and Mr. and Mrs. Randal Day of Moran, Kansas, Mr. and Mrs. Chester Fisher of Lincoln, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Day, Craig and Patty of Conway Springs, Kansas, Mr. and Mrs. Larry Day and Steve of Lincoln.
