I am not related...

I found what might be Mary Thamann in the 1880 census living with a grandmother.
1880 Otoe County, North Branch, District 194, NE June 1880 p368D
39/39 Rodaway Maria 51 wd England England England
Lilly dau 15 WI Eng Eng
Thomas son 13 WI Eng Eng
Mary Thuman gdaughter 9 NE Germany England

1870 Otoe County, Syracuse Precinct, Nebraska City PO, NE
1 June 1870
42/42 S Rodaway male 44 farmer England
M 44 female teacher England
E 20 female England
A 18 male England
M 17 female England (possible Mary mother?)
S 15 male England
R 8 female WI
L 5 female WI
T 3 male WI

I also found in 1880 Fremont County Iowa B Thaumann
and in 1900 Fremont County Iowa census John B Thamann. He is married in both census and has a wife and more children. According to the 1900 census he was married 24 years putting him married about 1875-1876, he is listed as being born in Ohio. I can list these census if you need them. I couldn't find Mary in 1900 census and presummed her married, maybe you can contact the Otoe County Genealogical Society and for a fee have them to look up a marriage record for her in Otoe County.
Hope this helps.... Linda
