Would like to compare notes with descendants of the McKenneys of Nemaha County. The patriarch of this clan, Jeremiah [b. abt 1795, Mercer Co., KY] was the brother of my husband's 4th great-grandfather, Daniel McKinney. Somewhere along the line, family members who moved to Nebraska adopted the surname McKenney, although census takers seldom got it right. Almost all of those who remained in Illinois used the McKinney spelling.
Jeremiah m. Catherine Wesner 29 Sep 1816, Edwards Co, IL, and had ten known children: Mary, Nancy, Elias, George, Joseph, Elizabeth, William, Margaret, Alexander and Catherine.
