I found this in the 1920 Census:
Missouri; Saline County; Elmwood Township
-Aregood, John W., age 51; born in Missouri; father born in Missouri, mother born in Pennsylvania; farmer
-Aregood, Annie, age 44; born in Tennessee; parents born in Tennessee
-Aregood, Walter, age 23; born in Missouri
-Aregood, Annie, age 22; born in Misouri; schoolteacher
I went back to the 1870 Census and found this:
Missouri; Saline County; Grand Pass Township
-Aregood, S.S.; age 40; born in Pennsylvania; farmer
-Aregood, S.J.; age 33; born in Missouri
-Aregood, A.C.; age 9; male
-Aregood, C.L.; age 6; female
-Aregood, L.T.; age 4; female
-Aregood, J.W.; age 1; male
-Aregood, W.H.; age 1; male
I think that J.W., age 1, is the father of Walter. Even though in the 1920 census it states that John W.'s father was born in Missouri and mother in Pennsylvania, I think that was just a mixup on John's part. Mistakes on the details was common. I believe that S.S. Aregood is Samuel S. Aregood born in Pennsylvania, son of Samuel H. Aregood and Mary Catharine Hittle. That is just a guess but it's very plausible.
In the 1860 census:
Missouri; Saline County; Grand Pass Township:
-S.S. Aregood, age 28; Engineer; born in Penn.
-Sarah Jane, age 22; Wife; born in Missouri
In the 1910 Census:
Missouri; Saline County; Grand Pass Township
-Woodward, Lee H.; age 41; farmer
-Woodward, Luella T., age 44
-Woodward, Henry W., age 10
-Woodward, Audra Y., age 7
-Woodward, Lawrence L., age 5
-Woodward, Leland J., age 4
-Woodward, Luella Mary, age 1
-Aregood, William H., age 41; brother-in-law; farm laborer
I think that the wife of Lee Woodward, Luella T., is the sister of John W. Aregood and William H. Aregood and William H. is the twin brother of John W. Aregood.
Go to www.rootsweb.com and type in the name Samuel Aregood for additional family.
