Hi Richard,

The U.S. Census is released after the average life span of 70+ years. Therefore, the 1940 census will not be released until sometime after the year 2010. There were 2 Fred Johnston's indexed in Nebraska for the 1900 census. Neither of which were your Fred. He may be indexed incorrectly, was missed on census for that year, or was possibly living in the household of another Johnston. I even tried JOHNSON in Douglas Co., Omaha City with no luck. SWE stands for Sweden.

liz

P.S. Post a new message on the board. Maybe someone else will catch something I may have missed.
