Frank, this is wonderful. How do you find all this census stuff? I don't even know what reels to order until I find someone like you who seems to have it at their fingertips. You must be able to use the Ancestry.com electronic database that I can't afford to subscribe to yet.
I've got a problem to solve. If you have any ideas on how to proceed, let me know.
There were 2 family members who apparently left the home area, and for some reason or other didn't contact anyone in the family ever again. I believe we know enough detail to find an obituary on one of them, so that's not a huge deal, but how do I proceed if the other is thought to have altered his name? I think there's some suspicion of what name he used, but it's not a sure thing. He left a wife and 3 kids back in the 20's, and I think he was found somewhere else, maybe in Illinois, with a different name, another wife and more kids around the latter part of the 1930's.
