The problem is that it's my husband's family and the oldest person living is his dad, who had some sort of a rift with his father and didn't speak to the man for 40 years and now he has passed away. George Graham had another son, but he has also passed away. I contacted this person's son, who is still alive, but he has not responded. They are all an illusive bunch and don't say much and certainly don't volunteer anything. My husband has asked his dad and he really doesn't know anything, as he was never close to the family. So, I am kind of up against a wall. It took me forever just to find George Graham, as I did not even know his name (his son listed unknown on every document for his parents' names and birthplaces). I'm not even certain that they were married in Nebraska - I'm only guessing because they were married 11 years in the 1900 Census (living in CO) and their oldest son was 10, born in NE. Anyway, I'm not sure what to do next - I can't afford to have a marriage search done in every county. I think I might try to find death records instead, although I have no idea where they died, and find an obituary or something.
Anyway, thanks for your input! I do wish I could find out more from the living relatives, but I don't think that's going to happen -
Thanks,
Desiree
