The Pierce Public Library (Pierce, Nebraska) Genealogy Help Group has located information for you on your family seach.We have the obituaries for both Carl Ferdinand and Louise Conrad.According to the obituaries, thirteen children were born, ten survived (in 1925):Mrs. William Hille (Hadar); Mrs. Herman Rohde (Pierce); Mrs. Charles Apfel, (Meadow Grove); Mrs. Agnes Walker (Omaha); Mrs. Gertrude Miller (Fresno, CA); Mrs. Herman Witneble (Neshota, WI); Leonard (Hadar); E.E. (Naper); Arthur (Venice, CA); Mrs. Leon T. Mileske (Los Angeles).
The family is also listed on the 1870 Pierce County (Nebraska) census: as Ferdinand, Louisa; Mary age 8; August age 4; and Amelia age 2.
Their daughter, Bernadine (Mrs. Herman Rohde), had the distinction of being the first white child born in Pierce county on July 4, 1870.This was later found to be incorrect.
