Andrew Leeper 1830 OH dad George Leeper
I am descendant of George Leeper thru son, Andrew (H?)b Liberty, Bellfontaine, OH 03 December 1830 md Sarah Jane Secrist, 04 January 1855 Eddyville, Wapello, Iowa and lived in Vancouver, Clark, WA where they are buried.
I also have contact with descendant of Nancy Ann who md John Streeter GLEASON.
Catherine md Hiram McKinney and may have come to West in wagon train with her brother George.Left Iowa in 1862 with older brother, William Harrison Leeper, to cross the plains to California. Possibly in the Kennedy wagon train. George was killed by Indians the 9th or 10th of August 1862 and was buried with four other men at Massacre Rocks off highway 15W in Idaho, south of American Falls.
(copy of page 186 from book MAPS OF THE OREGON TRAIL by Gregory Franzwa sent by Lavaile 'Rosy' Gleason of Holdrege, Nebraska Oct 22, 1989) 4/3/97 Wondered why two single brothers would come West Rosy believes their sister, Catherine, age 38, and her husband, Hiram McKinney, were also on this wagon train as they came to Oregon and then Vancouver, Washington where Hiram McKinney died in 1899 from Dropsy (burial place unknown possibly the Poor Farm or Pauper Field in Old City Cemetery [suggestion from Rose Marie Harshman, CCGS 4/3/97] )
Have unproven lineage backwards:
Andrew (H?),George, Andrew, Andrew, Andrew, James
