Mr. Alden B. Jacobs, a good citizen of the village, celebrated his seventy-seventh birthday anniversary Monday, June 12.He was born twenty-one miles east of Cleveland, Ohio,June 12th 1834;came to Green county in '44 and removed to Gratiot, Kis., (there is a Gratiot County in Michigan) twelve years ago;enlisted in the Third Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry, Co. H, and was wounded at Dallas Mountain, Georgia, May 25th, 1864, and came home from the war in the fall of '65.He was united in marriage to Miss Sarah Emily Abernatha October 1st, 1854, in Wiota township.After marriage they moved to Muscoda, Wis.;lived on the banks of the river.Eleven children have been the fruits of his marriage.
