I see from another post by you in the McCoy forum that you know John's wife:

"John Wesley McCoy was born 18 April 1908 in Hastings, Adams Co, Nebraska. He married Dorothy Mary Ellen Hauck Baumbauer."

Do you know his children's names? And places they lived? Do you know the names of the siblings of "your" John Wesley McCoy?

Share all you know about your John Wesley McCoy.

The Find-a-Grave Alvin Bantley McCoy has a brother named Charles Robert (in addition to having a brother named John Wesley McCoy). If the census posted is "your" Alvin, and he seems to be!, then "your" Alvin has a son Charles. If you can get the birth or death certificate for that Charles, it may tell whether his full name is Charles Robert McCoy. That would be another "coincidence" to add to the pile.

Also from posts by you elsewhere on Genforum, I see you have made a contact with someone (A. Baum) who has the Alvin Bantley McCoy family history fully researched. No more needed about that!

Since A. Baum has no other John Wesley McCoys (other than the one we found), that's another coincidence that leads me to believe your John Wesley McCoy may likely be the same as his.

Just a little gentle hint that in your original post it would have been nice had you mentioned the history of your search (you had already identified Alvin Bentley McCoy, you aren't sure if he's the same person as your Alvin Burton McCoy, etc.).
