Hi Hannah,

I’m glad you can trace the family with the information posted . Yeah! I had already written the following, so will post anyway…
Willie suggested Davis grandparents for you. That is an excellent lead, since they had a little boy on the exact day of your father‘s birth. The 1940 US census is being transcribed and indexed right now. When that project is finished, you'll be able to search it for that Davis family to see if they have children who would be older siblings to your father.
Already you can search the 1940 census free by going to the Ancestry.com website and (for this you don't need to be a member) choose the Omaha census pages and look at them, one by one. There will be lots, though, which is why most people are waiting until the searchable database is complete.
Most local libraries have a subscription to Ancestry.com. So you can use Ancestry.com at your library, even without a library card. Just ask the librarian if guests may use the library computers. You can also use free databases at the library that you are having trouble with at home - such as Family Search.
The Mormon church (Latter Day Saints) has an archives of microfilmed records including newspaper obituaries I believe. I'm not familiar - but visit their website to research how to order microfilms of the Blair and Omaha papers for the days following the death of your father and his son/your brother.
Additionally you might write to the Blair newspaper and just ask if they will search or if they have volunteers who will search their archives for the obit.
Finally, you might search with Ancestry at the library for the deaths of the Davis grandparents and seek obituaries for them. Maybe someone in the forum here will do that for you if you can't.
Best wishes!
