From the New York Times, dated January 13, 1921:

Spokane, Wash., Jan. 12 – Count and Countess Vigo Holstein Rathlou of Denmark, the latter formerly the wife of Dr. Roy A. Miles Collins, killed in Portland in 1909, were arrested here today by United States immigration authorities and are being held for possible deportation.
According to United States Immigration Commissioner Gowan, the pair entered the United States, presumable through Canada, last September after they had been refused admission in 1916.

He said the Countess Rathlou eloped with Rathlou from her husband in Portland in 1903, and that Dr. Collins’ second wife, when placed on trial a year after for his murder, declared that she had killed him because of his love for his former wife.

According to Mr. Gowan, the Count and the Countess left the United States in 1915 and on their return were refused admission.
