In my quest to find all I can of my G Grandmother, she m: Fredrick Buerkey, they came to the US 1878 from Germany, they had several children in Germany, one was Elizabeth Bork/Buerkey/Keen, Elizabeth's Death Cert. has her mothers maiden name:Van Hartenstein, and her Fathers surname: Bork. I know they did use the name Bork many times, two more children born in USA are: John Bork/Buerkey/, b: abt 1887, PA, Julia Bork/Buerkey/b: 1892 MI. I know where she was buried in Omaha, Nebraska 1920, but I do not know I have the correct spelling of Buerkey, the cemetery records have 2 diff. spellings. When she was 16 she came to the USA and helped out on her Uncles farm and lost her arm in a threshing machine & was sent back to Germany this was about 1857
