Schueneman - searching for Grandparents
Posted by: Cheryl End (ID *****0757) Date: August 15, 2011 at 11:57:12

I am trying to find information on the towns my grandparents came from in Germany/Poland and what church they were married in around Spencer, NB. and if there are any homestead records from that time. It is my understanding that Nebraska did not start recording marriages until around 1909 but hopefully there are church records.
My grandfather = Herman Albert Schueneman (arrived in Spencer, NB in 1889)and my grandmother= Ida Butzke were married March 7, 1891. I believe they were Lutheran and they homesteaded in Boyd County until 1915 when they moved to Dallas, SD. Before they relocated they had 9 children.
The children were: Frederick (killed in WW1, Herman, William, Arthur, Otto twin of Clara, plus Minnie, Elsie, Ida.
