I'm interested in Dakota County Nebraska and maybe Woodbury County Iowa.

The other John Heffernan on the 1880 census (my greatgrandfather) was married to Anne and had daughters Mary and Catherine. In 1860, he was in Sioux City, married to Ellen, can't find him 1870.

Incredibly enough, in 1870 the was a third John Heffernan in the area, married to Mary and with children James and Lucy.

Jim Heffernan
