Your way off base with your info!! I'll give you enough that someone will be able to help you and its the census takers option the way he spells the names.

1900 census Platte Co. NE.
WOOD JAMES age 19 M W IL NE PLATTE GRAND PRAIRIE 1900 (Occ. farm laborer) b. Aug. 1881 in IL. f b. in CA. m b. in IL.

I didn't find him in the 1910 census,

1920 census
WOOD JAMES F age 38 M W IL OR UMATILLA ECHO; 49-PCT 1920 f b. in CA. m b. in IL. (Occ. ? restarent)
Clarra L. age 22 b. in OR. f b. in MO. m b. in OR. (Occ. cook restarent)
