Searching for information on Jacob William Smith who, according to his obituary, was born in Hershey, Nebraska on 4 May 1874. I had previously been told by family members that Jacob had been born in McFall, Missouri but as the surname is so common and it has been reported that Jacob's father was in some trouble with the Jesse James gang, the Smith family has been impossible to track down. As I live in England and it is very difficult for me to access US records, I would be very grateful if someone could look up Jacob's birth in Hershey, Nebraska to see if the family did live there for a short time. Thanks in advance for your help!!
