Hi, Eunice.I've spent some time tracking Dorothy via the census reports. In 1920 she is 24 years of age and living with her sister, Margaret Glines. They are in Lincoln County Nebraska.I've spent several hours trying to find her in the 1930 census, but kept looking in Nebraska and couldn't find her.....because she moved to Colorado!
Her husband was Peter W. Souder, son of John M. and Annette Souder. Peter was born in Nebraska. In 1930 they were living on the farm of Thomas N. Willis.Peter and Dorothy had 2 children at that time, Richard age 5 and Ruth, age 3.Richard was born in Nebraska and Ruth in Colorado, so that would mean that they moved between 1925 & 1927.Probably married between 1920 and 1924.
I can not find a headstone for Dorothy.I did locate a Walker stone in the same area that lists Dorothy as being buried in.The names on the stones are Flora and Leonard.Would this be her parents?
If you would like hard copies of Dorothys' obit, the census reports, and/or pics that I took of the Walker headstone, please e-mail me and I would be happy to pass these items on.
Hope this helps you.
Marlene
