Hello again:
You probably thought I had forgotten about your request. No But I am ashamed that it has taken this long to get back to you!
I asked my eldely neighbor who now resides in a nursing home if she remembered Melvin. She said she did but she did not know what happened to him. She said that she remembered that he was married twice and that
she really liked his first wife and she thought that his first wife grew
up in Kearney, but she could not remember much else except that Melvin was a school teacher but she could not remember where he taught school.
This lady is 93 years old and was very ill in November and she said that her memory is worse than ever since her illness but she is regaining her strength with every day. She asked that I call her back in a week or so. She would try to remember and maybe even talk with some other persons that also
live in the home that was once from Axtell. She waid said if she remembered anything she would write it down and await my return call. I will call her back as she asked but I think I will wait several weeks. She said she enjoys talking to me and she would rather talk with me since she remembers who I am. I hope that does not offend you!
I am sorry that I can't tell you anything more at this time.
I will keep trying
Sincerely
Jeannene Olson
