Schneider of Gladstone, Nebraska

My great-grandfather, Joseph Schneider, was to have been from Gladstone (Jefferson County) Nebraska (born around 1874. I am not sure if his parents were born in the US or in Europe.

He left Nebraska and met my great-grandmother on the East Coast. Her name was Bernadette. He settled in Puerto Rico after the Spanish-American War. We think he did this because she was of Spanish descent and that there was a rumor he served with Teddy Roosevelt (Rough Riders) during the war.

We think he had at least one brother, Rudolph (and or Adolph).
If any of this sounds familiar to anyone - I could really use the help!

Thank you,

Carla
