Seeking Van Briggle of Beatrice, NE
Posted by: Dan Ratliff Date: July 09, 2001 at 22:17:07

I'm looking for family members or any record of Henry Clarence Van Briggle who married (2nd) Ada Ora Smith in, _I_ think, Beatrice, Gage Co., NE. His 1st marriage was in IN in 1880.

GGrandfather Earl Clarence Van Briggle, b. 1892, was evidently orphaned about age 7. He was on his own and making a living by age 13. Maybe there was an orphanage involved?

An LDS record gives me this place for the parents marriage, only source says "from film" (nothing specific).

I've found mention on the web of a daughter of Henry married there to an Ellis, and some old notes mention a step-brother named Shepard.

I have mention of places and dates from IN and IA across NE and Family still in Gordon, NE., but haven't found records of anything. Some earlier records give the name as Vanbriggle (all one word).

Any help greatly appreciated.

Dan
