Nathan Maine was born in 1756 and fought in the Revolution, He died 1855
Joseph Main was born 1822 Crawford County, PA. He went with one of his 14 brothers to Iowa in the early 1950s, went to KS as soon as the state opened to settlers then moved to Gage County, NE about 1859. He married Almira Rachel Partch. In 1860 a sister-in-law died and he burried her on part of his land that he donated to became Pleasant Hill (Frog) cemetery. I have an artical that memtions him as "his father" from the Farmers Journal. .He died in 1907 and his wife died in 1911. His twin sons Avery and Ambrose Main were born in 1876. The Farm Journal sasy "Avery Main went to visit his father" but does not mention him by name. Avery, Ambrose, and two brothers moved to Idaho where Avery died in 1952. His son Omar Leroy Maine, My Grandfather is supposed to have been born in Thomas County in 1896, NE but he may have been born in Gage. The Journal says that a neighbor came to visit him in 1907 and my grandfather would be 11 then. I am looking for news papers, deeds, wills, obits that would connect Avery to Joseph and Joseph to Nathan Maine. If this cam be done 5 generations of his decendants will be able to Join SAR/DAR
