States: Nebraska: Gage
Anna Richter came to America arriving at the Port of Baltimore on Steamship "Struttgart", Mary 5, 1892. The log shows she was already a widow; that she last lived in Marienburg and her destination as Nebraska. She was traveling with two other Richter passengers indicated as single females the one given name appears to be Jashing age 28(but I doubt the spelling to be correct) the other is Magdalen age 22. Anna had $7.00 on her arrival. It also appears she was possibly traveling with Jacob Kunkel 36 married and his wife Anna Kunkel age 30; and the Kunkel children Magdalen 8, Maria 6, Anna 4, Jno 2 and Eliz 5/12 mos. Jacob & Anna Kunkel are found in the 1910 Census for Gage Co. Ne with Children Christina 16, Gertrude 15 and Albert 15. It is indicated that they had 6 children with 5 living. Jacob & Anna Kunkle are also found in the 1920 Census (note spelling of surname different) Jacob is shown as immigrated in 1892; born in West Prussia; naturalized in 1906; and working in a pump factory. Son Albert J. age 22 single, working in a flour mill. Wonder if Mrs. Anna Kunkle (or Kunkel) was daughter of Anna Richter? Anyway still on luck on finding Anna Richter in 1920 Census but will keep searching as time permits. Hope this helpful.
