Samuel R. SMITH
Posted by: Ruth Edwards (ID *****1052) Date: October 16, 2005 at 18:57:38

There was a S.R. SMITH age 55 b. PA. living in Hamilton Precinct, Fillmore Co. NE in the 1885 NE State Census. He was also listed in the 1890 Gazetter, Farmer Index - Farmers in Fillmore Co., NE as S.R. SMITH - Carleton. I believe this S. R. SMITH was Samuel Riley SMITH b. 1830 in Luzerne Co., PA. He had a son Charles W. SMITH b.ca. 1859 in PA. who I believe was farming in Carleton, Thayer Co., NE 1890 - 1920. By 1930 Charles W. Smith was widowed and living in Beatrice, Gage Co. with his daughter Bernice LAWRENCE. Would greatly appreciate ANY help on the above people. Dates, places of burial, obits. Thank you.

Ruth
